AUGUST:      

 

     6 – CLINTON – Hiram in the Dale outdoor Third Degree hosted by Lyons Lodge No. 93 and Camanche Lodge No. 60 in an outdoor setting at the Izaak Walton League, Highway 136 (6 miles west of Clinton).  Lodge opens at 4:30 P.M.  Dinner is at 5:00, followed by the Conferral of the Third Degree by local brothers.   G.L.O. blue shirts and slacks.  No plans for ladies.

 

     7 – AMANA – Informal Grand Lodge Third Degree hosted by Canopy Lodge No. 290 in an outdoor setting (Hiram-in-the-Hills) north of Amana (watch for signs on Highway 151).  Gates open at 4:00 P.M.  First Section of Third Degree is by local lodge members at 5:00.  Dinner is at 6:00, followed by the Grand Lodge Officers and local brothers conferring the Second Section of Third Degree.  For reservations, contact Justin Wade at 319-541-7338 or e-mail justinwade55@yahoo.com.  G.L.O. blue shirts and slacks.  No plans for ladies.  In case of rain – Amana Elementary School in Middle Amana, 3023 220th Trail.

*   12-14 – CEDAR RAPIDS – Annual Assembly and Convocation of Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Iowa and Grand Council Royal and Select Masters of Iowa at the Marriott Hotel. (Personal)

 

*   14 – CLARION – Cornerstone Laying Ceremony at the new Police Department and Ambulance Service Building, 120 First Avenue SW.  Grand Lodge will open at 9:00 A.M. in the Heartland Museum, 119 9th Street SW.  An important practice session will be held at 9:15 for all Grand Lodge Officers and local participants.  The Ceremony is at 10:00 A.M.  Lunch will follow the closing of Grand Lodge.  G.L.O. dark business suits.  Ladies are invited.

 

*   14 – CEDAR FALLS –Grand Lodge reception and Third Degree hosted by Black Hawk Lodge No. 65, 212½ Main Street.  Social Hour begins at 2:00 A.M.  Lodge will open at 3:00 P.M. for First Section conferral by local brothers followed by the Reception of Grand and Past Grand Lodge Officers with the Second Section by them to follow.  Dinner is at 5:30.  G.L.O. dark business suits.  No plans for ladies.

 

*   17 – LOGAN – Fellowship Night at Chrysolite Lodge No. 420, 111 North Fourth Avenue.  Social Hour at 5:00 P.M. with dinner at 6:00.  G.L.O. blue shirts and slacks.  No plans for ladies.

 

*   18 – CEDAR RAPIDS – Meeting of the Lodge Service Committee. (Personal)

 

*   20-22– SIOUX FALLS, SD – Midwest Conference of Masonic Grand Lodges.  (Personal)

 

     21 – ADEL – Regional School at 411 South 12th Street.  9:00 A.M.

 

*   26 – JESUP – Informal Grand Lodge Third Degree hosted by Siloam Lodge No. 222, 740 Sixth Street.  Lodge will open at 5:30 P.M. with the First Section conferred, followed by the meal, and the Second Section of the Third Degree.  G.L.O. dark business suits.  No plans for ladies.  RSVP to Deputy Grand Master Thomas P. *   27 – DUBUQUE –  30th Anniversary Rededication Ceremony for Tri-State Morning Lodge No. 673 and Grand Lodge reception and Third Degree for Dubuque Lodge No. 3 at the Dubuque Masonic Temple, 1155 Locust Street.  Social Hour is at 4:00 P.M.  Lodge will open at 5:00 and First Section will be conferred.  Supper is at 6:00.  Rededication Ceremony for Tri-State Morning Lodge No. 673 is at 6:45, followed by reception of Grand and Past Grand Lodge Officers, and conferral of the Second Section by the Grand Lodge Officers.  G.L.O. dark business suits.  Ladies are invited.

 

*   28 – MOUNT PLEASANT – Old Threshers Grand Lodge reception and Third Degree hosted by Mount Pleasant Lodge No. 8, 206 North Main.  Social hour is at 11:00 A.M., lunch at noon, and lodge opening at 1:00 P.M. and conferral of the First Section of the Third Degree by local brothers followed by reception of Grand and Past Grand Lodge Officers, and Second Section of Third Degree by the Grand Lodge Officers.  G.L.O. bib overalls.  No plans for ladies. 

 

     28 – DES MOINES – Reception for Grand High Priest.

 

SEPTEMBER:

 

     6 – OTTUMWA – Annual C. Dale Cox Labor Day School of Masonic Instruction at Ottumwa Lodge No. 16, 611 East Pennsylvania Avenue. 

 

*   7 – CEDAR RAPIDS – Grand Lodge reception and Third Degree hosted by Marion Lodge No. 6, 684 Tenth Street.  Social hour is at 4:00 P.M.  Lodge will open at 5:00 with the First Section conferred by local brothers.  Dinner is at 6:00 followed by reception of Grand and Past Grand Lodge Officers, and Second Section of Third Degree by the Grand Lodge Officers.  G.L.O. Tuxes.  No plans for ladies. 

 

*   8 – ARNOLDS PARK – Friendship Night hosted by Twilight Lodge No. 329 at the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum, Highway 71.  Boarding of the Queen II begins at 6:00 P.M. for the lake cruise.  Refreshments will follow.  G.L.O. blue shirts.  Ladies are invited.  NOTE - Bring a warm jacket or blanket along in case it is a cool evening.  In the event of bad weather, the event will be held at the Maritime Museum at Arnolds Park and begin at 6:30.
